Read the two texts.

How can you tell if something is made from plastic? For some things, like a plastic lunchbox, it is easy to tell. And yet for other things, such as clothes, it is not so easy to tell. More than half of the clothes we wear contain plastic-based materials. These materials, with names like nylon and acrylic, have many functions. They can make our clothes stretchy and soft, and they can help make our winter clothes warm.
When we wash our clothes that are made from plastic materials, what happens? Small plastic parts enter the water. This water, filled with tiny plastic parts, ends up in the ocean. Once they are in the ocean, these tiny pieces of plastic may harm ocean life. Small creatures accidentally eat the plastic, and then larger predators are harmed when they eat those fish.
