Shark Bay is in Australia, on the coast of the Indian Ocean. This large protected area is made up of islands and bodies of water. It is known for its natural features, such as large seagrass beds. It is also known for its stromatolites. These are natural mounds made from layers of bacteria and sediment.
Shark Bay is on the western coast of Australia. It is home to hundreds of species of fish, birds and mammals. Mammals there include the Shark Bay mouse, bottlenose dolphins and dugongs, also known as ‘sea cows’. Many species of reptiles and amphibians also make Shark Bay their home. For example, skinks, legless lizards and thousands of turtles can be found there.
