The following texts both describe touching sea animals at an aquarium.
This text is told from the point of view of Becky, a kid who visited the aquarium:
I rush to the front of the queue for the touch tank at the aquarium. I’ve been here a dozen times, but there’s always something new to feel. The starfish have a pleasantly bumpy outer skin. The snails are so cute! They hide inside their shells when you pick them up. My favourite part is when the little fish nibble on my hands.
This text is told from the point of view of Maura, a teenager who visited the aquarium:
I could barely hide my disgust when kids started touching the creatures in the touch tank. Who would want to handle a slimy thing like a snail or a sea slug? A boy next to me tried to hand me a horribly rough, lumpy starfish. All I could say was, ‘Yuck!’
