Read this passage from a story.

There was no light at the end of the tunnel. At least, there was none that they could see.

Outside it was raining, so Faith and Tessa were exploring their house. In the basement, they had discovered a tunnel behind a bookcase.

Tessa found a torch and shined it into the darkness.

‘What do you think is in there?’ Tessa asked.

Faith wanted to sound brave. ‘I guess we’ll have to find out,’ she said.
