Capitalising titles

📚 Capitalising Titles

A title is the name of a book, story, movie, song, or article.
Examples:

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
  • The Lion King 🦁
  • Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

In titles, we capitalize:

  1. The first word of the title ✅
  2. The last word of the title ✅
  3. All main words (nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs) ✅

Do NOT capitalize:

  • Short words like a, an, the, and, or, but, in, on, at (unless they are the first or last word) ❌

Example:

  • Correct: Charlotte’s Web
  • Wrong: charlotte’s web
