Multiply the side length by itself:

Multiply the length times the width:
3 × 7 = 21
The area is 21 square metres.
➡️ A rectangular vegetable patch is 8 metres long and 6 metres wide. What is its area?

Multiply the length times the width:
6 × 8 = 48
