Introduction to Fractions:

  • Fractions represent parts of a whole or parts of a group.
  • They consist of a numerator (number of parts considered) and a denominator (total number of equal parts or the whole group).

Parts of a Group Concept:

  • Fractions can also represent parts of a group or a set of objects.
  • Each part (numerator) indicates how many objects or members are being considered out of the total (denominator).

Counting and Identifying:

  • Count the total number of objects in the group (denominator).
  • Count and identify how many objects are being considered (numerator).
